Creating online surveys or information blasts is quite easy nowadays thanks to cloud tools such as MailChimp or Survey Monkey. But, what if the community you’ll be reaching out to have neither an internet connection nor the devices to connect to one? Will your organization be willing to roll up your sleeves to go to the site personally?

Coding is for everyone that was the key message of #WeSpeakCode in Jakarta.

#WeSpeakCode is a week-long series of workshops hosted by Microsoft, the YCAB Foundation and TechSoup Asia, which are specifically dedicated to introducing coding to students, women and nonprofits.

In its session last 25th of March, I had the pleasure of joining over 30 delegates coming from various nonprofits at @america Pacific Place in Jakarta, for a day packed with workshops and talks, all dedicated to helping everyone to learn more about coding.

Office 365

Looking to develop your nonprofit’s own regular newsletter? With a hefty experience of creating those under my belt, I’m pretty excited to give you a hand with yours!

To begin, you should know that newsletters can be a lot of work. Creating one would require you to regularly do these three things: gather content, draft a layout and then send it out. Sounds simple, right? Well, it’s supposed to be! But, let’s be honest, eventually it gets a bit tedious and time-consuming if you’re not using the right tools. But don't worry though, I'll help you sort that out through Mailchimp.

I’m happy to announce that our family has grown yet again! Based in our Indonesia partner’s (Kitabisa) office, it’s my pleasure to introduce you to Iqbal Hariadi, our new TechSoup Asia agent in Indonesia.

At only 22 years old (as of 2015), Iqbal is a fresh graduate from Universitas Indonesia with a degree in Biology. Though he dedicated his college years studying life sciences, Iqbal is just as passionate towards social entrepreneurship as well, and also, how creativity and social activism can be used to make a positive impact in communities.

Working on files while you’re on the run can be a big inconvenience. Let’s admit it, even just the idea of dragging your laptop around with you is already cringe-worthy enough. But, the fact of the matter is, working on-the-go really just can’t be avoided.

Thanks to Microsoft though, working on-the-go doesn’t have to be as awful as it used to be! With the ever handy Word, Excel and PowerPoint now available for mobiles, you can now work on your documents, spreadsheets and slideshows even with just your smartphones or tablets!

Is running to meetings crippling your daily productivity? This should no longer be the case now that we have mobile devices and apps. But, with the thousands of available apps out there, it’s now rather difficult to assess which ones are actually helpful.

After a good deal of looking (and testing), here are three helpful mobile apps that I think could help you accomplish a diverse range of things. From as simple as editing files or designs, up to as complicated as creating a website, here are three free mobile apps that I would suggest for you to try out!

This past October 30, Microsoft Indonesia along with TechSoup Asia made an effort towards helping nonprofits in Indonesia to better understand the Cloud, by holding an NGO Connection Day at the Pullman Hotel at Central Park, Jakarta.

Catering just over 50 delegates coming from various nonprofits in Indonesia, the NGO Connection Day held at Jakarta was purposively kept in a smaller scale – relative to most NGO Connection Days - to help encourage a more responsive dialogue between its attendees and speakers.
